Disney Channel Greenlights ‘Just Roll With It’

Disney Channel will create a new scripted/improvisational comedy series dubbed Just Roll With It, said network officials.

The series is centered around a blended family that features step-siblings who could not be more different. The series is shot in front of a studio audience, and at the sound of a horn, the actors will break from the scene and go backstage while the audience decides which of three stunts will take place next.

The actors will then return to the stage to continue the scene, according to network officials. Just Roll With It is a production of Kenwood TV Productions, Inc., with Adam Small and Trevor Moore serving as executive producers.

"The multi-camera sitcom format has worked as a staple of TV for decades. So naturally, we aimed to totally upend it," said Jonas Agin, vice president, Original Series, Disney Channels in a statement. "By introducing an element of audience interactivity that subverts the expectations of not only the viewers but also the cast, Just Roll With It is a true step in the evolution of comedic storytelling."
