After the original movie attracted more than 16 million viewers last weekend, cast members of Camp Rock are inviting viewers to sing along with them Saturday night on Disney Channel.
The network, will present the “Camp Rock Rock-Along” version of the original telepic on June 28 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT), as cast members will reunite to host the sing-along telecast, which will feature song lyrics on the TV screen. Lyric sheets are also available at www.disneychannel.com/camprock.
The movie's soundtrack debuted as the #3 album on the Billboard Top 200 and at #1 on Billboard's Soundtrack and Children's album charts
Hosted by Joe Jonas, Kevin Jonas, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, Alyson Stoner, Meaghan Jette Martin and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, the "Camp Rock-Rock Along" will be preceded by a six-hour marathon of the animated series Phineas and Ferb, and sitcoms Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place.
Last weekend, Disney Channel scored big with Camp Rock, which averaged 8.9 million total viewers in the U.S. with its June 20 debut, the most-watched entertainment program on cable to date in 2008. The movie also pulled in some 3.5 million viewers on ABC the following night and 3.7 million on ABC Family, with a June 22 encore.
Then on Monday June 23, Disney.com’s broadband area notched 863,000 video plays, its highest daily unique visitor traffic, according to network officials. Moreover, "Camp Rock" Web sites pulled in 1.9 million visitors and 10 million page views during the online event that ran from 5 p.m. (PT) Monday through 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.
