Disney Channel Sweeps Up Third Season Of 'Suite Life On Deck'

Disney Channel is on board with a third season of The Suite Life of Deck.

It's a Laugh Productions will commence production on the comedy's third campaign in Hollywood early next year, according to Gary Marsh, president, Entertainment, Disney Channels Worldwide.

During its current sophomore campaign, Suite Life ranks as the No. 1 TV series among kids 6 to 11 and second among tweens 9 to 14, according to network officials. Season two to date (Dec. 29, 2008 through Oct. 11), the series surpassed its first-season average by 24% in total viewers (5.1 million vs. 4.1 million); 21% among kids 6 to 11 (2.4 million vs. 1.9 million); and 24% with tweens (2.1 million vs. 1.7 million), according to Nielsen data.

The series follows identical twins Zack (Dylan Sprouse) and Cody Martin (Cole Sprouse)  and hotel heiress London Tipton (Brenda Song) on a semester at sea aboard the luxurious SS Tipton. Joining the hijinks are London's roommate Bailey (Debby Ryan), a sweet, southern girl who has just left her small-town Kansas roots to experience a whole new world, and Marcus Little (Doc Shaw), a former singing teen sensation making a fresh start.
