Disney Joins U-Verse's TV Everywhere Universe

AT&T's 4.54 million U-verse TV customers are the latest to gain access to three Disney/ABC Television Group authenticated TV Everywhere apps: Watch Disney Channel, Watch Disney XD and Watch Disney Junior.

The apps, presently supported on iOS and select Android devices, as well as the Xbox 360 gaming console and Kindle Fire tablet and on PC Web browsers, offer the live, linear TV feeds of the trio along with access to on-demand titles in early, "advantaged" windows from a range of Disney  series, including Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up, and Phineas and Ferb.  To access the apps, AT&T's IPTV customers must sign-on with their U-verse customer credentials.

The debut of the Watch Disney services follows U-verse's recent launch of the WatchESPN service and Disney Junior, the new channel tailored to kids 2 to 7 and their parents/caregivers.

As part of the carriage deal  announced by AT&T and Disney in January, AT&T U-verse customers are also set to gain access to the Watch ABC  and Watch ABC Family TV Everywhere apps.

Comcast, Cablevision Systems, Cox Communications and Charter Communications are among other major pay-TV operators to sign similar, TV Everywhere-focused carriage deals with Disney.
