Disney Online Targets Gamers, Broader Demos

Disney Online, a division of Walt Disney Internet Group, is updating its Disney Connection broadband service with exclusive single-player and multiplayer games and new channels aimed at different demographics.

“The most significant of these is the inclusion of access to Playhouse Disney Preschool Time Online … and Disney Game Kingdom Online, an interactive world filled with games and fun customization options for kids,” said Steve Parkis, vice president of premium content for Disney Online.

The new channels will target age groups from preschoolers to teens, allowing users to create play lists for favorite games and videos.

Kids will also be able to search by game type -- from puzzles to arcades to activities -- and track high scores.
