A strong performance by a special episode of Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie comedy series helped the kids-targeted service finish last week as the most watched basic cable network.
Disney finished the week of June 18 to June 24 with 3 million viewers, topping USA Network, which pulled in 2.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen. History, leaning on the continued ratings success of reality series Pawn Stars, finished third with 2.4 million viewers, followed by TNT and Fox News Network, which tied for fifth with 2 million viewers.
A&E Network (1.7 million viewers); TBS (1.6 million); ABC Family (1.3 million); Syfy Channel (1.2 million) and FX (1.2 million) round out the top 10 most watched networks for the week.
USA Network was the top choice among such key audience demos as adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen.
Disney Channel easily topped kids network competitor Nickelodeon on a 24-hour basis, averaging 2 million viewers to Nick's 1.7 million viewers. Cartoon Network (1.4 million), Adult Swim (1.3 million) and USA Network (1.2 million) followed behind the category leaders.
Disney's June 24 Good Luck Charlie episode in which the show's fictional Duncan family welcomed a new baby drew 7.7 million viewers to finish as the most watched show for the week. History's June 18 Pawn Stars episode was the top choice among adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, while a June 19 episode Adult Swim's Family Guy drew a majority of adults 18-34 viewers, according to Nielsen.
