Disney World Resort to Get Telco TV

Smart City Television, an affiliate of Smart City Telecom, plans to roll out television service at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., as well as Internet-protocol-TV service with more than 200 video channels in residential neighborhoods in central Florida.

Smart City Television, based in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., is using Tut Systems’ Astria content and video-services-processor headend solutions along with Minerva Networks' iTVManager middleware and Latens Systems’ Foundation conditional-access system. The provider will use Tut’s Astria to convert digital channels to analog signals for hotel viewers.

"In choosing a partner for our IPTV-service launch, we looked for the optimal combination of system reliability and quality, compelling user experience and end-to-end IPTV-integration expertise," Smart City Telecom CEO Marty Rubin said in a prepared statement. "Tut Systems has consistently delivered on each of these with close coordination with their selected third-party solutions to meet our specific requirements."
