Do It Yourself reported Wednesday that its just-concluded 45-day 'Ultimate
Workshop Giveaway' promotion generated more than 747,300 entries.
Of those, nearly 675,000 came in via the network's companion Internet site,
DIYnet.com, DIY president Jim Zarchin said
in a prepared statement.
The grand-prize winner, yet to be chosen, will get $25,000 in cash plus
$25,000 in tools and materials to go toward creating 'the ultimate
Coinciding with the on-air premiere of the cable network's The Ultimate
Workshop miniseries, the promotion had Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse as
presenting sponsor. Other major sponsors included American Tool Cos. Inc.,
Popular Woodworking and Woodcraft Supply Corp.
