Documentary, 'Life Itself' to Premiere on CNN

The documentary based on Roger Ebert's memoir of the same name, Life Itselfwill debut on CNN on Jan. 4 at 9 p.m., the network announced today.

The film is largely told in the voice of the renowned film critic and social commentator, as Ebert's life is captured through the movies, his childhood, his love life, as well as his rivalry with Chicago Tribune film criticGene Siskel.

Directed by Award-winning filmmaker Steve James, Life Itself is produced by James and Zak Piper for Kartemquin Films and Garrett Basch for Film Rites. Executive producers include Martin Scorsese, Steve Zaillian, Michael W. Ferro, Jr., Justine Nagan and Gordon Quinn of Kartemquin Films.Kat White of KatLei Productions, MarkMitten, and Vinnie Malhotra and Amy Entelis of CNN Films also serve as executive producers.
