E! Goes Mobile for Emmy Red Carpet Coverage

E! Entertainment Television will offer its Emmy Awards red-carpet coverage on several new-media platforms, including broadband and mobile, officials said Thursday.

In a network first, E! Mobile channel will air a live simulcast of its two-hour special, Live fromthe Red Carpet: The 2007 Primetime Emmy Awards, on Sprint TV on Sprint Power Vision phones. A live simulcast will also air on E!’s broadband channel, The Vine @ E! Online. 

Marking the network’s first-ever simulcast for mobile phones, E! has partnered with Sprint to deliver the red-carpet show live to wireless users. E! will also offer Sprint subscribers video content live from the red carpet's “Glam Cam.” Couture lovers can watch E!’s live show on television while enjoying the best and worst in celebrity fashion at the same time on their mobile phones. 

Additionally, the live simulcast will be available to Pivot subscribers, the cable wireless service offered through a joint venture with Sprint, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications and Advance Newhouse.

On the Web, E! Online will air a live simulcast of Live from the Red Carpet: The 2007Primetime Emmy Awards. E! Online has also expanded its Emmy coverage to offer users exclusive photos, videos and up-to-the-minute information from pre-show to post-show.

Users can stay plugged-in and interact with a new Emmy blog, which peeks inside the ritzy swag suites, fashion polls and much more.

On Emmy day, as the A-listers make their arrivals, photos will be posted in real time as the stars walk the red carpet. Additionally, fashion addicts can check out video from the red carpet “Glam Cam” at The Vine @ E! Online and get opinionated critiques from E! Online’s “Fashion Police.” After the event, updated highlights will cover all the backstage dish and review the best and the worst moments from the carpet. And when the celebrities leave the ceremony and really kick up their heels, E! Online is there to bring you inside scoop from all the best bashes.
