EchoStar Adds Three Local Markets


EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network Thursday began offering local channels via satellite in three more metropolitan areas: Evansville, Ind.; Fort Smith-Fayetteville-Springdale-Rodgers, Ark.; and Sherman, Texas, and Ada, Okla.

The direct-broadcast satellite provider now offers local-channel service in 94 markets.

Evansville Dish customers can receive CBS channel 44 (WEVV), NBC channel 14 (WFIE), Fox channel 7 (WTVW), The WB Television Network channel 20 (WAZE) and PBS channels 9 (WNIN) and 31 (WKOH).

The Arkansas cities can now get ABC channel 40 (KHBS), CBS channel 5 (KFSM), NBC channel 24 (KPOM), Fox channel 46 (KPBI) and PBS channel 13 (KAFT).

And Sherman and Ada residents now have access to CBS channel 12 (KXII) and NBC channel 10 (KTEN).
