A new interactive TV service for kids is getting to its target market first
via EchoStar Communications Corp.'s DBS outlet.
EchoStar launched KidsWise among its 6 million DBS customers Tuesday
Prepared by Pixel Software Technologies, a company with offices in New York
and Tel Aviv, Israel, the channel features computer-generated interactive
animation, games and activities which stress problem-solving and reading
The edutainment content, which children can manipulate with a remote control,
is refreshed weekly.
Parenting tips also appear regularly on the service.
KidsWire will be available for $2.99 per month and appear as part of Dish
Network's Home Interactive TV service assortment.
Pixel officials were unavailable for comment on whether cable operator
carriage agreements for KidsWise are being pursued.
