EdgeTV, the start-up channel dedicated to games, has formed a programming partnership with Card Player Magazine, the leading poker magazine, officials said Tuesday.
Under terms of the partnership, EdgeTV and Card Player will develop programming sponsored by the magazine, with several of the publication’s executives serving as potential co-executive producers of the new shows.
In addition, Card Player publisher Barry Shulman will become a poker consultant to EdgeTV, Card Player will license EdgeTV select content from CardPlayer.com (www.cardplayer.com) and the companies will work together to offer advertisers special opportunities.
“As the leading source of articles from the top professional players, writers and commentators, Card Player has built a solid reputation and readership,” EdgeTV co-founder and CEO Reagan Silber said in a prepared statement.
“Its reach with poker and other card players is unparalleled, and we are very pleased to partner with them in creating compelling programming for EdgeTV,” Silber added.
The network is slated to launch in the first quarter of 2005.
