Cable in the Classroom has teamed up with The History Channel and Cable News Network on online-learning demonstration “eLECTIONS: Your Adventure in Politics.”
Cable high-speed-data surfers can go to the Web site (www.ciconline.org/eLECTIONS) and try their hands at running for president, from selecting campaign issues to seeking donations to comparing milestones in the actual election, CIC said.
“Taking an active part in civic life is one of the great joys and responsibilities of citizenship in a democratic society,” CIC executive director Peggy O’Brien said in a prepared statement.
“eLECTIONS is a wonderful example of how cable’s technology can influence learning about the whole election process,” she added. “Visitors to this new site will see firsthand how much more engaging the election process can be when you learn it at high-speed, fired by the power of broadband multimedia.”
