Ellacoya Networks Inc. is deploying its Internet-protocol-service-control system with Shaw Communications Inc.
The system will allow Shaw to manage access and backbone-network usage on its high-speed-date platform.
Shaw will deploy “e30” IP-service switches in 50 sites across its broadband networks, which serve 1 million subscribers.
“Ellacoya provides Shaw with the reporting visibility that allows us to understand the use of the network backbone and then apply service changes and network policies dynamically to meet the ever-changing needs of our high-speed-Internet customers as we deploy a variety of new digital services,” Shaw president Peter Bissonnette said in a prepared statement.
In other data news, Terayon Communication Systems Inc. has added Chryon Corp., Concurrent Computer Corp., Latens Systems and Miranda Technologies Inc. to its partner program.
And BigBand Networks Inc. said its “Cuda” cable-modem-termination system received Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification 2.0 approval from Cable Television Laboratories Inc.
