Emmys 2016: Louie Anderson Wins Emmy For Best Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series

Veteran actor Louie Anderson won the first 2016 Emmy Award presented Sunday night for his role as a woman.

Anderson won the best supporting actor in a comedy series for his role as Christine Baskets in FX’sfreshman series Baskets. He beat out a list of contenders that included Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), Andre Braugher (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Ty Burrell (Modern Family), Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and Matt Walsh and Tony Hale for their roles in Veep.
