Emmys 2017: Ann Dowd Wins Best Supporting Actress in a Drama

In a surprise, The Handmaid’s Tale’s Ann Dowd won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama award.

Dowd beat out her fellow series star Samira Wiley for the award along with Uzo Aduba (Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black), Millie Bobby Brown (Netflix’s Stranger Things), Chrissy Metz (NBC’s This Is Us), andThandie Newton (HBO’s Westworld)

Dowd's win was the third of the night for The Handmaid's Tale following wins in the Outstanding Writing and Directing for a Drama Series categories.
