English Cricket Chirps on Dish


EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network direct-broadcast satellite service has acquired the exclusive rights tothe England Cricket Hometours for 2006-09 from the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Dish said it will offer a minimum of 70 days of cricket from May through September featuring the national teams of Australia, England, India, Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Zimbabwe.

“The acquisition of English Cricket is significant as it represents all of the world’s premier cricket being played during the North American summer months,” Dish executive vice president Michael Kelly said in a prepared statement.
