Ensequence Releases ITV Manager Upgrade

Ensequence announced the general availability of iTV Manager Programmer Edition 2.0, a workflow software tool designed to let networks quickly create and deploy interactive TV applications.

The iTV Manager Programmer Edition features a Web-based interface and a modular architecture, and supports the cable industry's Enhanced TV Binary Interchange Format (EBIF) spec. The system is available as a software product or as a managed service.

Showtime Networks and Rainbow Media are among the programmers using the system.

"Interactive programming and sponsorships that used to take months to test, certify and deploy now take a fraction of this time," Ensequence chief technology and product officer Aslam Khader said in a statement. "The Ensequence iTV Manager platform has dramatically increased the ease with which our programming customers can deploy interactivity across their channels and families of channels."

New York-based Ensequence's other customers include: NBC Universal, MTV Networks, ESPN, The Walt Disney Co., Turner Broadcasting System, HBO, QVC, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Canoe Ventures, Dish Network, DirecTV and Verizon.
