Envivio, a provider of IP video encoding solutions, announced it has closed $25 million in venture-capital funding.
The financing is being led by private equity firms Harbourvest and Atlantic Bridge, with participation from Samsung Ventures. Other Envivio investors include Crédit Agricole Private Equity, Crescendo Ventures, Innovacom (France Telecom), Harbinger Venture Management, Intel, NTT Finance, Saints Capital, Sigma Designs and Solidarity Fund QFL.
The privately held company is based in South San Francisco, Calif., with research and development in France.
Envivio targets mobile TV, Internet TV and IPTV markets. The company said its solutions are used by 200 fixed and mobile networks operators to deliver live media services to the TVs, PCs and mobile phones.
