Epix, the premium network J.V. of Viacom, its Paramount Pictures unit, Lionsgate and MGM Studios, has named former BBC exec Sandy Ashendorf to the post of EVP for content distribution.
Ashendorf will be based in New York, head up distribution for Epix across all platforms and report to Epix president and CEO Mark Greenberg.
She joins Epix from BBC Worldwide America, where she was EVP of distribution, and previously spent more than 17 years at Viacom in various leadership roles, including EVP of affiliate sales and marketing for MTV Networks. One of 13 Multichannel News "Women to Watch" in 2013, Ashendorf has also served as a consultant to media companies and started her career as a corporate associate at Rubin Baum Levin Constant & Friedman.
"I’ve worked in the industry with Sandy for over twenty years and am delighted that she is bringing her powerful combination of experience, relationships and business acumen to Epix, Greenberg said in a statement. “As we expand our executive team and build our network operating infrastructure, Sandy will add a valuable new dimension and will be a key resource in expanding and strengthening our partnerships and driving new growth.”
“I look forward to working with our distributors to create new revenue generating opportunities, provide more value for subscribers and bring our premium line-up of hit movies and compelling original programming to new and broader audiences,” Ashendorf added.
Ashendorf is a graduate of New York University and Cardozo Law School, and sits on the board of directors of the T. Howard Foundation and Women’s Project Theater.
