Epix Renews Deal With Network CEO Mark Greenberg

Epix president and CEO Mark Greenberg has renewed his contract with the premium service, the network said Friday.

Greenberg, who has led Epix since its launch in 2009, has led the network to profitability and has overseen the network’s recent growth as the fastest growing premium entertainment service over the past five years, according to SNL Kagan.

The former Showtime executive has also overseen the Lionsgate, Paramount and MGM-owned network’s push into digital entertainment and TV Everywhere.

“Mark has done a tremendous job with EPIX over the last seven years. This renewal is a testament to his leadership and I look forward to working with him to bring EPIX to new heights in the years ahead," said Gary Barber, Chairman and CEO of MGM.

Added Lionsgate Chief Executive Officer Jon Feltheimer: “Mark is a good friend and a great partner, and we are fortunate to have his steady hand and clear vision continuing to guide EPIX’s growth. He is a digitally-savvy executive who anticipated where consumer behavior was headed, and the network reflects his entrepreneurial and forward-looking thinking.”
