E!'s Red Carpet Coverage Rises 15%

E!'s coverage from the red carpet event before last night's Primetime Emmy Awards grew 15%.

Hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic, E!'s Live from the Red Carpet: The 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards averaged almost 1.4 million watchers, 15% more than the 2008 event's tally, according to Nielsen Media Research live + same-day data.

The show, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (ET), also generated a 9% increase in households to 1.15 million, a 16% gain among adults 18 to 49 (0.74) and a 57% jump among adults 18 to 34 (0.93)

E! official said its red-carpet performance outpaced TV Guide's coverage, quadrupling its completition's total viewers, while delivering more than five times as many adults 18 to 34 and more than 10 times as many adults 18 to 34.
The network's two-hour Countdown to the Red Carpet: The 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards from 4 p.m. to -6 p.m. attracted over a half of a million total viewers.
