ESPN will add two weekday-afternoon telecasts to its 2002 Major League
Baseball schedule -- contests that were acquired as part of parent The Walt Disney
Co.'s purchase of ABC Family last year.

ABC Family -- which, as Fox Family Channel, aired weekly Thursday-night regular-season
games -- will now only air select playoff contests.

The odd network out is FX, which loses its national Saturday-night baseball
package.

Disney bought Fox Family -- as well as Fox Cable Networks' two cable baseball
packages -- last year for $5.2 billion.

ESPN will add weekly Monday-night and Wednesday-afternoon telecasts to its
longstanding weekly Sunday-night exclusive game, as well as its Wednesday-night
doubleheaders.

Overall, ESPN and ESPN2 combined will air approximately 160 MLB games in
2002.
