ESPN To Bow Web Site Tracking International Results

SportsCenter has long been a place where U.S. fans can catch up on the latest sports results. Next year, ESPN hopes to make a fixture for those seeking news about fixtures in the Barclays Premiere League and other international sports and events around the world.

Expected to launch sometime early next year, will be home to live scores from major sporting events around the world. All told, the site will eventually provide results from 23 sports from 180 countries, with scores and data about everything from football to soccer, baseball to cricket, hockey to ice skating, according to an ESPN spokeswoman. The site will feature information in six languages and contain nation-specific content and advertising.

ESPN and ABC president George Bodenheimer informed investors and analysts about the upcoming Web site at the UBS Securities Media & Entertainment conference here Monday.
