ESPN Deportes on Jan. 21 will launch #Redes, an interactive program geared towards the bilingual Hispanic sports fan.
The idea behind the 60-minute show is to take the viewing experience beyond the screen to social media and other digital assets, including Twitter and Facebook, network officials said.
Airing weeknights at 8 p.m., #Redes will be presented by Bud Light, with on-set product placement and brand integration across different segments of the show.
“Television consumption continues to evolve and so do our viewers, especially the new generation of Hispanic sports fans who regularly interact across social media space while consuming our content,” Lino Garcia, general manager of ESPN Deportes, said in a statement.
#Redes will monitor social trends and showcase them using an aggregation tool to track down Twitter and Facebook posts, YouTube videos and photos. This content will be then integrated into special segments that integrate sports with real-time conversations, music playlists and pop culture.
#Redes will be hosted by Carolina Guillén and co-hosts Alfredo Lomeli and Barak Fever.
