ESPN and Grande Communications have reached an accord that will bring Spanish-language service ESPN Deportes to the distributor’s digital-basic lineup in a number of Texas communities.
ESPN Deportes is scheduled to bow April 29 on the overbuilder’s systems serving Austin, Corpus Christi, Midland, Odessa, San Marcos, San Antonio and suburbs northwest of Dallas. The network will be located on channel 130.
It was unclear at press time how many new subscribers ESPN Deportes would add through the carriage pact, terms of which were not disclosed.ESPN Deportes counts over 6 million subscribers, including 4.5 million households.
