ESPN Extends U.S. Open Pact

Bristol, Conn. -- While the United States Golf Association crowned its 2004 champion on Sunday, ESPN has extended its deal with the organization to cover the U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open and U.S. Senior Open through 2008.

Under the renewal deal, terms of which were not disclosed, ESPN added a seventh hour to its daily presentation at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y. this past weekend.
The pact gives the sports giant rights to live and TV highlight coverage, as well as online, broadband and video-on-demand content.
ESPN and the USGA also agreed to extend ESPN’s International rights through 2008.
