ESPN plans a multipronged marketing campaign to promote next month's 'The
Great Outdoor Games.'
The event is scheduled for 19 hours of coverage on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC
starting July 20 and continuing through July 23. ESPN2 will then run one-hour
review shows July 29 through Aug. 2.
The event's presenting sponsor will be DaimlerChrysler's Dodge.
Atlanta-based BaylessCronin has produced a package of spots focusing on such
competitions as air dog, target sports and timber sports -- spots that will run
across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic and ESPNews.
ESPN Radio Network, ESPN-The Magazine and Bassmaster magazine
will also be part of the marketing campaign.
The Great Outdoor Games are produced by ESPN in association with two longtime
producers of its outdoors shows, JM Associates and Barrett Productions, as well
as Lingner Group Productions.
