ESPN Launches Moto X World Championship

ESPN said it’ll debut the Moto X World Championships motocross race April 12-13, with live coverage on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN360.com and EXPN.com.

The all-sports network is teaming up with the San Diego International Sports Council and Qualcomm Sports Stadium on the race.

The annual event will feature top motocross riders competing in several disciplines, including freestyle, SuperMoto and best trick.

The April race marks the first time that the X Games will return to San Diego since 1998.

“Given the tremendous success and excitement of Moto X and the X Games, we are very excited to present our first event dedicated exclusively to Moto X,” Ron Semiao, senior vice president of ESPN content development, said in Wednesday’s announcement.

Tickets for the Moto X World Championships at Qualcomm studio will be available through TicketMaster.com, beginning in February.
