ESPN: More Than 7 Billion Minutes Watched During Super Bowl Week

Forget about Roman numerals.

ESPN networks presented 346 hours of NFL programming during Super Bowl week and executives said that American households spent more than 7 billion minutes viewing the coverage.

The worldwide leader, to be precise, said that viewers -- from ESPN's presentation of the Pro Bowl on Sunday, Jan. 25, various daily studio shows, the first time full editions of SportsCenter were produced on site from the game location in Phoenix and NFL PrimeTime after New England dethroned Seattle -- watched 7,167,864,300 minutes of pro football-related fare. Research officials in Bristol, Conn.calculate that total into 13,628 years of television viewing.

“Sports fans know that for big events the best in previews, analysis, news, features and highlights comes from ESPN,” said John Wildhack, ESPN executive vice president, programming and production.
