ESPN Nets Present Full Court Press Of UConn's 'Record Run' At Hoops History

ESPN networks are triple-teaming the U Conn women's basketball team's attempt to topple the John Wooden and the UCLA's record 88-game win streak when the Huskies take on No. 14 Florida State.

UConn tied the Wizard of Westwood and the Bill Walton-led UCLA group's1971-74 mark on Dec. 19 with a decisive win over No. 10 Ohio State at Madison Square Garden during the nightcap of the Maggie Dixon Classic.
The UConn-FSU contest, which was originally slated for ESPNU, tips off in the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. on Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. (ET) on ESPN2. Dave O'Brien and Doris Burke will have the call, with Rebecca Lobo, who helped key the first of UConn's seven national champion teams, working the sidelines.

Before then, there will be a full court of programming around the Huskies, All-American Maya Moore and coach Geno Auriemma, as UConn tries to achieve their own roundball milestone.
Leading up to Tuesday night's game coverage, ESPN2's Final Four studio team of Trey Wingo, Kara Lawson and Carolyn Peck will host an hour-long pregame show at 6 p.m., along with postgame segments, from the XL Center.
For its part, ESPNU on Tuesday will provide a five-hour lead-in of sorts under the "UConn's Record Run" moniker, tipping with UConn's Quest for Perfection at 1 p.m. The four part, two-hour series is a behind-the-scenes look into the Huskies' repeat championship 2009-10 season, which debuted during the 2010 postseason.
That will be followedBaylor vs. UConn - Breakdown with Geno Auriemma at 3 p.m. The coach sat down with Burke to analyze Connecticut's 65-64 win over then-No. 2 Baylor on Nov. 16, its closest win during its run.
UConn Legends Roundtable, a half-hour show starting at 5 p.m., will be led by Burke, who will host a forum with former Connecticut All-Americans - Lobo, Jen Rizzotti and Sue Bird, as well as Moore. The group will discuss the school's chase and Auriemma's coaching style among other topics.
A half-hour special, Debating the Streak, begins at 5:30 p.m. Hosted by Wingo, the show will contain segments featuring discussion topic about UConn's streak from some of ESPN's daytime programming - PTI, First Take, SportsNation, Mike & Mike and Jim Rome is Burning.
For its part, ESPN Classic will present the various reairs of telecasts surrounding "UConn's Record Run." The ESPN Classic schedule is as follows:
