Network's Tripleheader Draws Record 2.3 Overnight Rating

ESPN’s NBA Christmas Day tripleheader Wednesday averaged a network record 2.3 overnight rating, according to ESPN officials.

The tripleheader, comprising the Chicago Bulls-New Jersey Nets, Houston Rockets-San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers-Golden State Warriors matchups, was up 10% from the previous high of a 2.1 rating generated during ESPN's Christmas 2012 telecasts, according to the network.

In addition, ESPN’s Rockets-Spurs and Clippers-Warriors primetime doubleheader averaged a 2.3 rating, up 21% from a 1.9 rating in 2012, making it the highest-rated NBA Christmas Day primetime doubleheader ever, according to the network. The Rockets-Spurs game also drew a Christmas primetime record 2.4 overnight rating, according to ESPN.
