Last night's ESPN New York Giants-Dallas Cowboys Monday Night Football telecast scored the biggest audience for a cable program this year, drawing nearly 18 million viewers.
The 17.9 million viewers who tuned in to watch the Giants roll to an impressive 41-35 victory over "America's Team" surpassed the 17.4 million viewers that tuned into the Sept. 27 Green Bay Packers-Chicago Bears MNF contest, according to the sports network.
The Oct. 25 telecast also finished as the fourth most-watched program cable history, said ESPN officials.
The game earned a 13.0 household coverage rating, representing 12.9 million households, and led all Monday night broadcast and cable programs in key male and adult demos.
Through its first eight games, ESPN's Monday Night Football telecasts are averaging a 10.9 household rating and 14.9 million viewers, both slight increases over 2009's numbers, said the network.
