ESPNU Joins USA Rugby Scrum

ESPNU will cover USA Rugby’s international rugby matches through 2008 under terms of a multiyear deal announced Thursday.

The network’s coverage will kick off with the nine-game 2006 Barclays Churchill Cup June 3, which will also include Canada, England, Ireland, New Zealand Maori and Scotland.

ESPNU will also air two Rugby World Cup qualifying matches, pitting the USA against Barbados July 1 and Canada Aug. 12, marking the first time coverage of each competition is televised domestically.
