ESPYs Crazy Like a Foxx

ESPN announced Wednesday that actor and comedian Jamie Foxx will host the
11th Annual ESPY Awards.

The ESPY Awards, presented by General Motors Corp., will take place July 16
at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre. ESPN will televise the event live at 9 p.m.
EST.

Foxx hosted the MTV Video Music Awards in 2001. In addition, he
created and starred in The Jamie Foxx Show on The WB Television Network
(1996-2001) and appeared on Fox's In Living Color (1991-94).

His Home Box Office special, Jamie Foxx: I Might Need Security, aired
in 2002. And last August, Foxx -- a Dallas native -- conducted an interview with
National Football League star Emmitt Smith for ESPN's 25,000th edition of
SportsCenter.

The 2003 ESPY Awards will include 33 different categories featuring both
sport-specific and cross-cutter awards (categories that pit athletes from
different sports against each other).

Winners in the 17 sport-specific categories will be determined for the first
time through online fan voting at ESPN.com (espn.go.com/main.html), which has
already resulted in more than 2 million fan votes since the polls opened June
13.
