Esser, Lucas Named Honorary Co-Chairs For NAMIC Conference

The National Association For Multi-Ethnicity In Communications has named Cox Communications president Pat Esser and TV One Inc. president and CEO Wonya Lucas as honorary co-chairs of theupcoming 26th annual NAMIC Conference.

Esser and Lucas will co-chair the conference, which runs Sept. 11-12 and has its theme Diversity4: Culture. Audience.Innovation.Leadership, said officials from the organization.

"The conference theme signifies the ever-changing landscape of the media and cable communications industry and the customer base we serve," said NAMIC president and chief executive officer, Dr. Nicol Turner-Lee said in a statement. "We are honored to have two of our industry's foremost diversity champions, Pat Esser and Wonya Lucas, on board as honorary co-chairs, as we prepare to present a progressive and forward-thinking agenda driven by this year's theme."

In addition to Esser and Lucas, NAMIC also announced the conference's planning committee, which includes Juan Herrera, NAMIC Board Director and Viacom vice president, office of global Inclusion; Crystal Washington, Scripps Networks Interactive vice president, external relations, diversity and inclusion; and Donna Rattley Washington, NAMIC Board Director and Comcast Cable regional vice president, government and regulatory affairs.
