Melissa Etheridge wants to help VH1 “Save the Music.”
The two-time Grammy Award-winner will donate two front-row tickets for each of her 18 concert stops throughout September and October.
Fans can visit the network’s Save the Music Web site (www.vh1.com/partners/save_the_music) and bid on the tickets, with proceeds going to help restore music-education programs throughout public schools across the country.
"I am so happy to use the last leg of my tour to help bring the benefits of music education to more children," Etheridge said in a prepared statement. "Each year, the VH1 Save the Music Foundation continues to inspire children and help them grow in all aspects of life. I am so pleased to be a part of their cause."
Since VH1 created Save the Music in 1997, more than $25 million worth of musical instruments have been donated to 1,000 public schools in 80 cities, the network said.
