Ex-Cable Exec in HBC Insider-Trading Mess

Publish date:

The Securities and Exchange Commission charged former Prime Cable Partners Inc. chairman Robert Hughes with insider trading of Hispanic Broadcasting Corp. stock ahead of the June 12, 2002, announcement that Univision Communications Inc. would buy HBC.

Hughes, an HBC director, and three other defendants, agreed -- without admitting or denying the allegations -- to pay a $450,000 settlement.

Ex-Univision employee Ernest Bieling was also charged.
