Ex-Cablevision Exec Gottesman Joins Social Media Firm

Patricia Gottesman has been named CEO of Crimson Hexagon, a social media monitoring company on whose board she has served since December.

Gottesman spent 28 years at Cablevision, in marketing, operations and product management roles. Among her honors there, she received an NCTA Vanguard Award in 2007. (An interview MCN's Mike Reynolds did with her ahead of the 2006 CTAM Summit she co-chaired is here.) She had been working on digital commerce applications before she left Cablevision in early 2008.

More recently, she has been an international technology and media consultant, advising top U.S. media companies as well as mature and start-up digital and technology firms here and in India, her new employer said.

Crimson Hexagon said it will look to her to help build on the proprietary design of its technology platform, originally developed at and licensed from Harvard University, and accelerate the company's recent operating momentum to create new opportunities for growth.

The company said it was founded in 2007 in Cambridge, Mass., and provides real-time social media monitoring and analysis to brands, agencies, media firms and their partners. The company's ForSight platform uses technology developed at Harvard's Institute for Quantitative Social Science and delivers "a real-time view of how engaged online consumers truly think and feel about a brand or issue."
