Efforts to revive the Women’s United Soccer Association -- the cable-centric
circuit that suspended operations after three seasons Sept. 15, citing
sponsorship-related budget shortfalls -- evidently included two of the league’s
previous investor/owners.

Sources in the soccer and MSO communities said Discovery Communications Inc.
chairman and CEO John Hendricks, the league patriarch, and Amos Hostetter, the
former Continental Cablevision Inc. CEO, whose Pilot House Soccer LLC owned part
of two WUSA squads, are part of a group that met in New York this past Tuesday
with a goal of getting some form of women’s professional soccer on the pitch
next year.

Neither Hendricks nor Hostetter could be reached by press
time.
