Women in Cable Telecommunications' Rocky Mountain chapter along with Communications Technology Professionals announced that Teresa Taylor, former chief operating officer of Qwest Communications, will deliver the keynote at its Tech It Out event Nov. 10 at The Cable Center in Denver.
The Tech It Out mission is to "demystify technology for professionals at all levels," as well as highlight women technology leaders in an interactive forum. Taylor's speech, titled "Riding the Glass Elevator," will address how to harmonize a corporate technical career and personal private life.
"Teresa Taylor will enlighten and encourage attendees for their continued advancement in the communications industry," Starz Entertainment director of affiliate sales Jacyn Meyer and Tech It Out co-chair said in a statement. "Throughout her 25-year career as a telecommunications leader, Teresa has built a legacy of strategic vision while pioneering change and demonstrating leadership that has earned her praise by investors, media, shareholders and employees."
The one-day conference also will include speakers from companies including Mitch Bowling, Comcast's senior vice president and general manager of new businesses; Mike Hayashi, executive vice president of advanced engineering for Time Warner Cable and this year's WICT Rocky Mountain Mentor of the Year; Marti Moore, vice president of Charter Communications' strategic program management office; and Maria Popo, president of the Americas for Ubee Interactive.
In addition, the Tech It Out event will feature Multichannel News columnist Leslie Ellis, who will host her popular Buzzword Bingo workshop.
