broadband subscribers via a marketing and advertising alliance with Polycom Inc.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Excite@Home said it will offer Polycom's 'ViaVideo' desktop application,
which provides interactive video communications from a desktop or laptop PC at
up to 30 frames per second. ViaVideo, which combines a multimedia processor and
a camera into one unit, connects to a PC's universal-serial-bus port.
ViaVideo 'is designed to make communicating face-to-face over the Internet a
reality,' Excite@Home executive vice president and chief marketing officer Byron
Smith said in a press release.
