‘Family Guy’s’ McFarlane To Keynote Promax/BDA Show

The 2008 Promax/BDA conference in New York is going for the funny with its creative keynoter: Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane.

“Seth is a remarkable talent and a catalyst for change within the television industry. Through his characters and his own experience, he has a voice that is welcome, a point of view that is relevant and an approach that connects with our audience both as professionals and fans. He continually forces us to question the status quo and provide alternatives to everyday dreck,” said Jonathan Block-Verk, Promax/BDA president.

McFarlane joins a roster of previously announced speakers, including the Rev. Jesse Jackson; futurist Nicholas Negroponte; Hustler TV president Michael Klein and executive producer, writer and host of “Inside the Actors’ Studio,” James Lipton.

The convention is scheduled June 17-19 at the Hilton New York Hotel.
