ABC Family last week said that its "25 Days of Christmas" affiliate sweepstakes promotion has generated some $4.2 million in local ad sales for 300 cable operators.
The promotion is linked to 250 hours of holiday-theme programming the network has slated from from Dec. 1 through Dec. 25. Earlier this fall, network executives projected that "25 Days" would top the $4 million mark.
Among the campaign's more than 500 retail clients were Applebee's International Inc., Baskin-Robbins, Burger King Corp. and Subway restaurants.
General Mills Inc. and RadioShack Corp. sponsor a national online sweepstakes component; Air Jamaica, The Black & Decker Corp., Eastman Kodak Co. and RadioShack have contributed prizes.
