The Federal Communications Commission Friday planned to seek a rehearing of a
major media-ownership ruling handed down by a panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals
for the D.C. Circuit, an agency spokesman said.
In February, the court eliminated an FCC rule that banned the common
ownership of a TV station and a cable system in the same market.
It also told the FCC to reconsider a rule that limited the reach of a
TV-station group to 35 percent of U.S. TV households.
