Gulf Power can't jump its pole rates to cable operators by more than 500
percent, the Federal Communications Commission said Tuesday in a ruling that
restored the old $6 annual rate until a new agreement was negotiated.
The FCC's Enforcement Bureau ordered Gulf and several cable companies,
including Cox Communications Inc. and Comcast Corp., to return to the bargaining
table and agree on new pole rates consistent with the agency's rate-setting
The FCC also ordered Gulf to refund the MSOs their overpayments since March
