FCC’s Shelton Leaves to Help Dems in House

Washington— Johanna Mikes Shelton is leaving the Federal Communications Commission office of member Jonathan Adelstein to become the top lawyer for Democrats on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Shelton is replacing Gregg Rothschild, who leaves his staff position to join the Washington, D.C., office of Verizon Communications Inc. as vice president, federal relations and policy counsel.

“I will greatly miss Johanna and the excellent support and advice she has provided me, but I am proud to know that she will continue her government service, an important cause that we both believe in,” Adelstein said in a statement.

In her new role, Shelton will work closely with Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.), the most senior Democrat on the committee. Her new job begins Feb. 1

Before joining Adelstein’s office, Shelton was a telecommunications adviser to Rep. Richard Boucher (D-Va.), an Energy and Commerce member.
