FCCs Hoffman to Leave for Four As

Washington-Lawyer Adonis Hoffman, deputy chief of the Cable Services Bureau, is leaving the Federal Communications Commission to join the American Association of Advertising Agencies (Four A's), FCC sources said last Wednesday.

Hoffman joined the FCC in 1998 and worked in the International Bureau. He was hired a year later to serve under CSB chief Deborah Lathen and help draft digital-TV carriage rules and review AT & T Corp.'s merger with MediaOne Group Inc.

At Four A's, Hoffman will work here as senior vice president and counsel. Four A's represents 550 ad agencies, including the top 25 in the country.

Hoffman is scheduled to leave the FCC May 31.
