'Feherty' Reaches Golf Channel's Largest Audience For An Original Series Debut

The premiere audience for links funny man David Feherty's show had Golf Channel executives smiling.
Feherrty, hosted by the veteran sports personality, reached 569,000 during its one-hour premiere on June 20 at 10 p.m., according to Nielsen data. That made Feherty, which averaged a 0.4 household rating and 368,000 viewers, Golf's most-watched original series debut to date, topping the 527,000 who watched The Haney Project - Charles Barkley back in March 2009.
Monday's premiere episode featured a rare interview with golf hall-of-famer Lee Trevino as he discussed his rocky path to success, reflections on the 40th anniversary of his U.S. Open victory and the current state of the game.

Upcoming episodes of Feherty, the first series original series created since Golf became part of the NBC Sports Group, will include interviews with basketball hall-of-famer Barkley, Academy Award-nominated actor Don Cheadle, and PGA Tour legend Tom Watson.
